Cuisinart's Tanarus Scenario of the Week
This is my weak attempt at making something similar to Sony's Tip of the Week, Roughly once a week I would like to post a new scenario that I have had experience with, in hopes that some new strategies can be used in Tanarus. In the coming weeks, I will cover setting traps, pursuit, escapes and one I'm sure everyone will want to see.... Minesweeping.. SWEEPINART!!!
In regards to this page, I made it in less then 15 minutes using Microsoft's wonderful Front Page 98 I'm sure someone will detect the sarcasm... but hey, it works. Until I spend some time on a proper layout, I'm sticking with white on black because I think it's easier to read =b So enjoy and I hope this helps someone.

This weeks sponsor is:
Energizer Batteries, avoid those nasty little power problems with our new and improved batteries. Available only at fine tank supply stores.
Now that we got the ad out of the way, let's get started.
This weeks scenario is the following:
On the Chaos map, there is a fragger camping out at one of the high recons all by himself. He is beginning to cause a problem, but your team can not spare the people to take him out. But fear not, there is hope here. More often then not, they will make sure that there is a recon gun defending their precious recon. The trick to pulling this off is to use the gun against them.
The config to use:
Vanguard with Shields, Phase Multiplier, Reserve Battery, Supercharger, Stealth, Minesweeper and Dampener.
Here, we have our victim, played by SonyCFodder, trying to escape our pursuit. At this point, most of the smarter Devs will immediately recon their tank to escape from your attack. However, SonyCFodder's recon gun is going to make a big difference here.
*** WHAT TO LOOK FOR HERE ***
1. You will have a sweeper, use it. The top of that ramp is a popular spot to mine.
2. Make sure you are alone, an enemy tank can be disasterous here.
3. You will need about 75% power to make it out alive at this point.
Now that he is aware of your intentions, he has been nice and predictable, plopping his fat butt on his recon pad. At this point, most pilots give up and drive away. But not today, using his recon gun as an aid, you are going to close in for the kill now.
When you close in, you will want to allocate your shields to 75 infront, and 25 in rear because your fronts will most likely be dropped by the gun, but your rears will barely stay up. This is where it gets tricky. You will need to turn your turret to the 90 degree angle to maintain a constant field of fire on the recon sitting dev while driving in a semi-circle to avoid being hit by the recon gun. How do you do this? Simple. If you stay at the base of each ramp, you can drive from one end of the recon to the other without being hit ONCE by the recon gun... it's field of fire can't reach here. Should the Dev come out with phoenix missiles, your constant jukeing will most likely throw off his aim here. And the best part of it all... I have yet to see the recon gun get the kill.
Once you have killed him, you can fall off the edge, since you DID (hint, hint) bring that dampener.
